Outfii is operated by Shubham Gupta (referred to as "we," "our," or "us") from Goa, India. We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web services (collectively, the "Service").

By using Outfii, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted).
  • Profile Information: Optional information such as your name, profile picture, and style preferences.
  • Wardrobe Data: Photos of your clothing items, categories, colors, brands, and other metadata you provide. Important: Please upload only photos of clothing items—not personal photos, selfies, or images containing faces.
  • Outfit Data: Outfits you create, save, or share within the app.
  • API Keys: If you use the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) feature, your API keys are stored securely on your device only and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. However, your wardrobe data (photos and metadata) is stored on our servers to enable sync and backup features.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data: Features used, time spent in app, interactions with AI features.
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Social Login: If you sign in with a social media account, we receive your email address and basic profile information as permitted by your privacy settings.
  • Payment Processors: For paid features, we use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe handles payment information directly and we never store your full payment details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Process your wardrobe photos and provide AI-powered styling recommendations
  • Personalize your experience and content
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. AI Processing and Your Data

Our Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze your wardrobe and provide styling recommendations. We primarily use Google Gemini for managed users. Here's how we handle your data in AI processing:

  • Image Analysis: Your clothing photos are processed by AI models to identify items, colors, patterns, and categories.
  • BYOK Users: If you use your own API key (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic), your key is stored securely on YOUR device only using platform-native encryption. When you use AI features, your images are sent from your device to your chosen AI provider under their privacy policies. Your wardrobe data (clothing photos and metadata) is stored on our servers to enable cross-device sync and backup.
  • Managed Users (Paid Tiers): For users on paid plans, we use Google Gemini to process your images. Your photos are processed securely and we follow Google's data handling practices.
  • Data Retention: AI-generated analyses (metadata, outfit suggestions) are stored to improve your experience. You can delete this data at any time through your account settings.
  • No Training: Your wardrobe images are never used to train our AI models or sold to third parties.
  • Clothing Only: Please only upload photos of clothing items. Do not upload personal photos, selfies, or images containing faces.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in these circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With Supabase (backend infrastructure), Stripe (payment processing), and analytics providers.
  • AI Providers: For managed users, with Google (Gemini AI) to process your styling requests. For BYOK users, your data goes directly from your device to your chosen provider—we are not involved.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by Indian law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or that of our users.
  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly agree to share information.

Important: We will never sell your wardrobe photos or personal styling data to advertisers or third parties.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Secure authentication mechanisms
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls limiting who can access your data
  • Secure on-device storage for sensitive information like API keys (BYOK)

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can delete your account and associated data at any time through the app settings. After account deletion:

  • Your wardrobe photos and data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days
  • Some information may be retained for legal compliance purposes

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure (Supabase) may be hosted in regions outside India. For AI processing, managed users' data is processed by Google (Gemini) which may involve international transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with Indian data protection laws.

11. Third-Party Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Backend infrastructure for auth, database, and storage
  • Google (Gemini): AI processing for managed users
  • Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions
  • Analytics (planned): Firebase or Mixpanel for app usage analytics

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice via email or in-app notification.
