Google AI Studio

Setup Steps
Go to Google AI Studio
Visit aistudio.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
Open AI Studio →Create an API Key
Click on 'Get API key' in the left sidebar, then click 'Create API key'.
Select a Project
Choose an existing Google Cloud project or create a new one. The free tier doesn't require billing.
Copy Your Key
Your API key will be displayed. Copy it securely - you won't be able to see it again!

OpenAI
Recommended model: GPT-4o
Setup Steps
Create an OpenAI Account
Go to platform.openai.com and sign up or log in to your account.
Open OpenAI Platform →Add Payment Method
Navigate to Settings → Billing and add a payment method. You only pay for what you use.
Generate API Key
Go to API Keys section, click 'Create new secret key', and give it a name like 'Outfii'.
Go to API Keys →Copy Your Key
Copy the key immediately - it won't be shown again. Store it securely.

Setup Steps
Create an Anthropic Account
Visit console.anthropic.com and create an account or sign in.
Open Anthropic Console →Add Payment Method
Go to Settings → Billing and add a credit card. Anthropic uses pay-as-you-go pricing.
Copy Your Key
Copy and securely store your API key. It starts with 'sk-ant-'.

How much will it cost?
With Google AI's free tier, it's completely free for most users. For OpenAI/Anthropic, expect ~$0.01-0.05 per outfit suggestion. A typical user might spend $1-5/month.
Is my wardrobe data private?
Yes! With BYOK, your photos and wardrobe data are sent directly from your device to the AI provider. We never see or store your images. Check each provider's privacy policy for how they handle API data.
Can I switch providers?
Absolutely! You can add multiple API keys and switch between them. Go to Settings → API Keys and tap the ⋮ menu to set a key as active.
What if my API key stops working?
Check your provider's console for quota limits or billing issues. You can also generate a new key and update it in the app. Outfii will show an error message with details if there's an API issue.
